Equipment and Hardware Inventory Changes MIDDLE SCHOOL IPAD REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE When an IPAD is damaged, the Technology Facilitator will enter a work ticket into the system. The Technology Facilitator will send the iPAD to Donna Malloy. Donna will contact Apple Inc to request a replacement. Once the replacement is received Donna will ship the damaged IPAD to Apple Inc. Donna will complete an IPAD replacement acquisition form, which includes a section for the retirement of replaced IPAD. Donna will send the new IPAD and paperwork to the appropriate locations. CHANGES IN THE PROCESS OF RETIREMENTS Retirements will be handled by the Inventory Clerk at each location. Technology will no longer store retired equipment. Each location will be responsible for storage and disposals. MIDDLE SCHOOL IPAD TRANSFER FOR SCHOOLS WITHOUT A TF Contact Donna Malloy to setup time and date

Destiny Reminders Fines for iPad/Laptop loss, damages and the loss or damage of parts should be entered in Destiny so that it follows that student. Students get only 3 instances of iPad Repair from Apple. When a new student arrives at your school please do the following Determine if they are new to the county. If they are, use their PowerSchool # as their patron #. (Do not check assign next available patron #) If they are not new, send an to me to move them. (Please do not create a new patron)

Internet Safety/Cyberbullying CIPA Compliance Since 2001, the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA) has required that schools have certain internet safety policies and technology protection measures to receive “E-Rate” funding. In 2008, Congress added a new certification requirement for schools as a part of the Protecting Children in the Twenty-First Century Act that required schools to educate minors about appropriate online behavior, as well as cyberbullying awareness and response. The FCC is now enforcing a requirement which requires school systems to ensure that their internet safety policies are updated to meet the requirements of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). Completion signature with class roster should be filed in the media center.
