NATURAL RESOURCES Various minerals, plants and animals.

MINERAL RESOURCES Precious metals- gold, diamonds. Other metals- iron, copper. Black Gold- oil

PLANT RESOURCES Coffee, cotton, cocoa, sugar cane, rubber.

ANIMAL RESOURCES IVORY- elephant tusks and rhino horns: Thought to be APHRODISIAC- makes one good at sex.

ESSENTIAL QUESTION How do ivory hunters affect natural resources?

ENDANGERED SPECIES Nearly hunted to extinction. PROTECTED LIST- illegal to hunt certain animals (rhinos, elephants). POACHERS- illegal hunters.

WILDLIFE RESERVES Places where animals are protected.
