The How’s of Skill Panels Recruitment- who sits at the table is very important Staffing AND facilitation Engaging members Timing of meetings Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing “Working groups” Determining and setting outcomes-how these change over time Translate information back to supply side

Possible Skill Panel Work Assist businesses turnover and job retention Develop and disseminate labor market data to job seekers and/or youth Increase skills for current employees to meet new and improved technological advances Develop outreach campaign to encourage more youth and/or job seekers to consider education/training specific to a high demand industry Document and determine future workforce skills and education required within the next 2 to 5 years Expand apprenticeship opportunities Define career pathways for specific high growth jobs within an industry Develop customized training and/or curricula for a specific high growth area within the industry (e.g. welding technician to welding engineer) Develop/improve articulation agreements between educational institutions – speed the process for students to graduate from programs for high demand jobs in industry
