9/14/2007State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division PTP and TVU Expansion Revolving Technical Services Fund Approximately ~$3.1m appropriation during 2007 legislative session Funding will support the ongoing expansion of the PTP and TVU special probation programs As many as 40 additional probation officers will be hired

9/14/2007State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division Bail Decision Aid Research (Hedlund, 2007) Use of the Decision Aid in 357 cases resulted in: Fewer FTA’s (17% Comparison group vs. 12 % for Decision Aid group) More use of conditional release recommendations (21% for Comparison group vs. 64% for Decision Aid group) More bail commissioner recommendations matching court orders (49% for Comparison group vs. 65% for Decision Aid group) Lower percentage of cases held in pre-trial jails (43% for Comparison group vs. 25% for Decision Aid group)
