2 MONSTAT MONSTAT performs expert tasks related to preparation and conduct of numerous statistical surveys. The Office collects, processes, analyses and disseminates statistical data on population, economic and social trends as well as on many other fields of public life. Ongoing reforms of statistical service will allow collection, processing and dissemination of data respecting the standards of European Union.

3 Users numerous users need statistics: government bodies, businesses, scientific and research institutions, international and non-governmental organizations, and public in general, our duty is to satisfy all those needs!

4 Sources and methods of data collection Data on sceintific-research and experimental- development organization have been collected through regular annual survey (Questionnaire: NIRO)

15 What is missing… No data on business (researchers, investment, etc.) No common data-base on researchers, there are several we use Often, the MONSTAT questionnaires are not filled-in properly

16 What are the plans for future… Established regular contacts between MONSTAT and the Ministry Adjustments of the NIRO questionnaire to be more in line with the actual needs (adaptation of the methodology of statistical survey – FRASCATI METHODOLOGY) What should be done to be in line with EC standards (e.g. Regulation No753/2004) TAIEX Expert mission approved (selection of expert in course)
