Lesson Design Template for Teaching with Visualization IIT Bombay January, 2015

How to fill up this ‘Lesson Design’ (Lesson Plan) template Assume you are teaching in a classroom where students do not have individual laptops Follow the 3 steps given below to fill up this template – Step 1 – Specify your chosen topic & learning objective(s) with the selected visualization (i.e. animation/simulation) [Slide 3] Step 2 – Specify your instructional environment along the given dimensions [Slide 4] Step 3 - Fill up the lesson design table [Slide 5….] Note: o Slides with a white background and black text (like this one) contain information or instructions. o Slides with a yellow background contain activities that you need to perform. 2

STEP 1: Instructional Objective(s) with animation/simulation ITEM YOUR SPECIFICATIONS Fiber optic transmission Media used in physical layer of OSI model Topic Name URL of animation/simulat ion After interacting with the chosen animation, students will be able to: Learn the working of fiber optic cable in physical layer Learning objective(s)

Look at the examples provided in Slides 6 & 7. Write your lesson design as per the column headings in the table.
