People would watch these movies in a cinema. The Cinema owners would hire musicians – piano or organ – to play live music as patrons were watching the film. Charlie Chaplin was a well known actor in the silent film era.
In the late 1920’s new technology allowed film makers to add sound to video. Now movies could contain sound effects, music, and dialogue. rs rs
Another momentous breakthrough in cinematography was the introduction of colour to the film. This was achieved through 3 strip Technicolor film and it was extremely expensive. The Wizard of Oz is one of the first notable large scale motion pictures to be produced in colour. 8uF4 8uF4
