Let’s be CLEAR, all Internet searches should be: Courteous Legal Efficient Academic Responsible “The District reserves the right to monitor the use of the network to assure proper and appropriate use of equipment and services.” Per the Council Rock Student/Parent Handbook (Board Policy #815)

Courteous: Function: adjective 1 : marked by good manners suitable to a court 2 : marked by respect for and consideration of others

What does this mean? Searching for information in a manner that would not cause you or your family any embarrassment.

Legal: Function: adjective 1 : of or relating to law or lawyers 2 : based on law 3 : permitted by law or established rules

What does this mean? Searching for information that you would use to break a law, is not appropriate.

Efficient: Function: adjective 1: capable of producing desired results especially without waste

What does this mean? Think of the best possible words to use for your search. The less time you spend searching for your topic the more time you can spend learning about your topic.

Academic: Function: adjective 1 : of or relating to school or college 2 : literary or general rather than technical

What does this mean? Search only for topics that focus on what you are learning in school.

Responsible: Function: adjective 1 a : being the one who must answer or account for something b : being the cause or explanation 2 a : able to meet one's obligations : Reliable b : able to choose for oneself between right and wrong 3 : requiring a person to take charge of or be trusted with important matters

Responsible: You are in charge of what you search. Make the best decision for what you need to do.
