FCCLA Planning Process 1.Identify Concerns I don’t know how to be a Rock Star yet. 3. Form a Plan Who-Ms. Crider What-Will become knowledgeable about being famous. Where-During class When-Between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2013 Why-Because she had to for a project for class How-I will complete the Career Investigation STAR Event 2. Set a Goal I want to be the great Rock Star of all time!

FCCLA Planning Process Cont. 4. Act First I am going to potato, then I will hamburger and toothpaste. Next I will crumple the leaves while sorting the onions. Lastly I will reindeer to the gas station and lean with it. 5. Follow Up Did I learn what it takes to be a Rock Legend? Now that I am more well informed, do I believe I actually can be a Rock Legend? What could I have done to make my project better?

Self-Assessment On December 5th, I went to www.texasrealitycheck.com and took their interest inventory about what kind of life I wanted for myself. I stated that I wanted the most expensive type of lifestyle with as little education as possible.

Self-Assessment Cont. Because of the info I gave, the program told me I should be come a Rock Star! Without taking the assessment, I still would have wanted to be a Rock Star, but the results made me much more confident in my choice.

Career Research Job Description: My job would be to learn songs that other people have written, record the songs, do media promotions of the music and perform both in concert and for media outlets. Duties: I would have the duties of living a rock star type lifestyle, setting a poor example for America’s youth while still being considered a role model, and trying not to die young. Responsibilities: I would be responsible for keeping a unreasonable level of drama in my life, rocking people’s faces off and endorsing merch that is terribly over priced.

Career Research Cont. Qualifications: If I can pretend to sing, then I qualify to be a rock star. Entry-level positions: First I probably should start out as a struggling local artist in order to be visible for record label scouts. Or I could put myself on the internet. Advancement opportunities: Once I get picked up by a record company, I will instantly become a sensation, just like the Chocolate Rain kid. Job Outlook: The outlook is pretty terrible for the nest 10 years or so. Salary: As much as possible. How much money they give me directly depends on how popular I can get.

Exploring Local Artists I have a friend who was in a local band called Gnar World Order. I recently asked him some questions about being Level 2 famous. He said that there isn’t much too it but it took a really long time to get to where his band currently is. They put in lots of time and effort for gigs that don’t really pay and probably won’t yield any more fame than they started with. He reports that it is a long, hard, but fun road to travel.

Sample Work In Ms. Crider’s class, we did a project called a “Life Map”. This map gave me a chance to think about my past and future like a road map of where I have been and where I want to go. This project gave me a chance to imagine myself as a rock star and to path I will have to take to become the ultimate entertainer.

Career Planning I have 2 main career goals: To become a hugely popular rock star To make a ton of cash To complete these goals I plan to: Take music classes in high school. Start a band before leaving high school. Begin playing a lot of show by the end of high school. Start locally touring before the age of 20. Make a network with at least 20 other bands and venue owners by the time I’m 21.

Use of FCS Coursework Family and Consumer Science education will help me because: It taught me to work hard, be honest, and pretend to be interested in topics I don’t care about. I learned to cook, sew and take care of babies. This will come in handy when I live alone with almost no money and have to babysit my friends’ kids for extra cash.
