Korean War war between North Korea (also China) and South Korea (also United nations and United States) North Korean forces invaded South Korea, after a few months of fighting South Korean forces were able to push North Korea back to the 48 th parallel. After two years at deadlock, an armistice was signed in 1953 creating a demilitarized zone at the 38 th parallel between the two countries that still has bordfer problems today.
