 Someone who controls and maintains a computer system.  Someone who trains users of computer system.

OOne of the most important skills a system administrator needs is problem solving. They frequently undergo various sorts of constraints and stress. The system administrator is called on when a computer system goes down or malfunctions, and must be able to quickly and correctly diagnose what is wrong and how best to fix it.

 Dealing with Internet-interfacing or business-critical systems, a system administrator must have a strong grasp of computer security. This includes deploying software patches and also preventing break-ins and other security problems with preventive measures.
