09/9/21 In 2001 a 7.6 cm telescope was installed on the roof of Faculty of Sciences

09/9/21 Then after a year a bigger telescope with electric driving and equatorial mount was installed.

09/9/21 A group of students were trained to obtain the relative number of sunspots. UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

09/9/21 A Digital Camera to photograph solar photosphere.

09/9/21 GEOPHYSICAL INSTITUTE OF PERU (IGP) – NATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL OF JAPAN (NAOJ)  In 2004, IGP signed a cooperation agreement (MoU) with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan  Mutual cooperation in the fields of Solar Physics, Astronomy and Radio Astronomy and Astronomy education.  Then we received some optical components that would be part of a Solar Spectrograph which will be installed on the Solar Station-U.N.ICA.

09/9/21 The IGP moved a Solar Spectrograph that was at the Huancayo Observatory to the Ancon Observatory of IGP (2004). Solar Spectrograph

09/9/21 Training in solar observations at NAOJ. Hida Observatory Nobeyama Radio Observatory Norikura Observatory

09/9/21 Visit of Professor Kazunari Shibata, to Ica

CURRENT RESEARCHES IN THE U.N.ICA Currently it is being created a database of records of sunspots by Miss Lurdes Martinez. Also students of mechanical engineering have designed and constructed an equatorial mount for a small Telescope Reflector. A graduate student is making a research with old radio observations data from Huancayo Observatory.

09/9/21 UNIVERSITY SAN LUIS GONZAGA DE ICA U.N.ICA SOLAR STATION The Solar Station is located within the university campus in the city of Ica. This city is located south of Lima, capital of Peru. This station will be the first observatory of its kind in Peru.

09/9/21 The equipment that will be installed at the solar station are provided by the Geophysical Institute of Peru and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NAOJ.

09/9/21 Visit of Professor Takashi Sakurai (2009)

09/9/21 THE CONSTRUCTION AND PUTTING INTO OPERATION OF THE DIGITAL MONOCHROMATIC HELIOGRAPH  This equipment will allow us to make researches using a digital camera equiped with a birrefringent Halpha filter.  Obtain images of the solar chromosphere by the spectral line in the wavelength of nm neutral hydrogen.  Observe structures like dark filaments, active magnetic regions, eruptive bumps and quiescent bumps.

09/9/21 CONSTRUCTION AND PUTTING INTO OPERATION OF THE DIGITAL SOLAR SPECTROGRAPH  This instrument will allow us to measure the properties of the various emission lines and absorption lines.  Determine the equation of state that characterize the plasma that is part solar chromosphere and solar photosphere.
