STEPS FOR CREATING PICTURE AND VIDEO SUPPORTS (1) Determine the participants who need intervention. (2) Identify the tasks that should be targeted for intervention. (3) Determine the settings in which the tasks will be performed. (4) Develop a task analysis for each task designated for intervention. (5) Assess the participant on their current performance of the task (6) Determine the technology that the participant will use for self-prompting. 4

STEPS (CONTINUED) (7) Record the prompts on the device by recording a prompt for each major task analysis step. (8) Train the participant on the use of the device and self-prompting system to a specified criterion. (9) Have the participant use the device to self- prompt completion of daily living tasks identified for intervention. (10) Adjust prompts as needed by clustering or chunking them. (11) Assess maintenance and generalization. 5
