ENVIRONMENT CANTERBURY SHAREPOINT INTRANET Adapting SharePoint functionality for a corporate Intranet. Matt Elliott and Julie Blyth

Background SharePoint purchased as a result of an organisation wide consultation concluding there was a need for an application that would provide the ability for better knowledge management, collaboration and tools to assist with staff with their main work processes.

Features  Homepage  Bulletin Board – Custom list  Organisation Calendar - Calendar  Whaddyathink etc –Blog list  Workspaces  Section (Department) areas

Organisation Calendar  Previously no central repository for all Council events.  Calendar content  Local calendars from teams, sections and councillors “bubbled up” to feed into wider organisation Calendar using content types.  Content can also be loaded directly into the Corporate calendar.
