Only large organisations could afford a computerised system which was mainly for Financial / Accounting purposes. Almost everything was a manual labour intensive process. People had to travel long distances to work with each other. Today Technology Enables Business to Succeed. Communication has been greatly enhanced through use of technology Mobile phones, and the internet are a part of everyone’s life. Computers, Networks and Applications support the way we work. Re-confirm your Business Strategy and Expected Outcomes for the next 3 to 5 years. Determine if the current IT investment will cater for the business strategy. If the answer is no, document your requirements clearly. Formulate an IT Strategy and Plan that maps back to the Business Strategy and Plans.
