Christmas Was the Other Day Now What?

Introduction “Mary Did You Know?” Your baby would walk on water Your baby would save all mankind? Your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Your baby boy is the great “I AM”? As Christians do we know? (Matt. 27:22) How will the world know? (Matt. 16:13-16)

II. World has Two Reactions to Christ 1. Reject the baby/reject the Savior 2. Accept the baby/reject the Savior

III. What Does the Bible Say about Jesus? He is the Alpha and Omega God declares Himself the Alpha and Omega (Isa. 44:6) Jesus declares Himself as the Alpha & Omega (Rev. 1:8) (Rev. 22:13)

Bible Presents Jesus as Jehovah Isaiah saw God in all of His glory (Isaiah 6:1-5) John says that Isaiah saw Jesus (John 12:41)

Father called Jesus God (Hebrews 1:8) “..but of the Son He says, “Thy throne O God is forever and forever… (Hebrews 1:10) “Thou Lord in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the works of Thy hands”

Jesus is the Creator God (Gen. 1:1)“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Col. 1:16) “For by Him all things were created…created by Him and for Him” (John 1:3) “All things came into being by Him and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being”

God alone is worthy of worship Bible says worship God alone (Exodus 34:14)(Rev. 19:10), (Rev. 22:8), (Acts 10:25) Jesus was worshipped & accepted worship (Matt. 2:9-11), (Heb. 1:6), (John 20:28)

Christ’s Name Declares Him as God (Isaiah 9:6) “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us: and the government will rest on His shoulders: and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Matt. 1:23) “…They shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God with us”

Jesus Performed Acts of God Bible says that only God can forgive sins (Mark 2:7) “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God alone” Jesus forgave sins (Mark 2:5) “Jesus…said to the paralytic, “My son, your sins are forgiven”

Jesus Controlled Nature (Matt. 8:26) “….then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea: and it became perfectly calm. And the men marveled saying “What kind of a man is this that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Jesus Gives Eternal Life (John 10:28) “…and I give eternal life to them and they shall never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand…”

Jesus Will Judge the World (John 5:22) “..for not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son…”

III. What Does Christ Say of Himself? He Declared Himself to be God He was executed for claiming to be God (Mark 14:61-62) (John 8:56-59)

Jesus Stated That He is “I AM” God gave His name as “I AM” to Moses (Ex. 3:13-14) Jesus asked who they think “I AM” (Matt. 16:13-16) The world doesn’t say He is God Peter declared Him to be God

Jesus called Himself “I AM” “I AM” the Bread of Life (John 6:35) “I AM” the Light of the World (John 8:12) “I AM” the Door (John 10:9) “I AM” the Good Shepherd (John 10:11) “I AM” the Resurrection and Life (John 11:25) “I AM” the Way, Truth and Life” (John 14:6) “I AM” the True Vine (John 15:1) “I and the Father are One (John 10:31)

IV. What next? Christ’s birth, death and resurrection are the center point of history It is not narrow mindedness to save others What God did to save us in not narrow minded That baby is the King and Judge of the universe (Heb. 10:26-31) We must experience salvation to offer it. (Romans 10:9-10
