Is Indoor Tanning Healthy? Tanning is the darkening of the skin due to ultraviolet radiation. Indoor tanning devices contain a mixture of UVA and UVB, simulating the mixture found in the sun.

Is Indoor Tanning Healthy? When acquiring a tan, the brown pigment, melanin, is produced and distributed in the epidermis of the skin in the days following exposure. The damage caused when developing this pigment minimally protects the skin against further damage from UV radiation

Is Indoor Tanning Healthy? Studies show that tans have a very poor ability to prevent sun burning. Ultraviolet light causes skin cancer

Sunless Tanning Safety All sunless tanners contain DHA (dihydroxyacetone). DHA temporarily stains the skin surface and fades like a suntan as skin cells are naturally shed. DHA is considered by experts to be completely safe for skin, however it wont protect you from UV exposure.

Sunless Tanning Experts say, the best way to achieve an even, sunless tan is to exfoliate and be sure skin is smooth before applying the product.
