Smith-Hughes Act  Was established in 1917 for vocational agriculture courses in high schools

Future Farmers clubs In the 1920’s Virginia was the first state to have Future Farmers clubs for boys

The FFA  In 1928 the FFA became a national organization  In 1928 a group of agriculture teachers network across the U.S to form the National FFA Organization

National FFA Organization  Is the name of the student organization for high school students enrolled in agricultural education courses

Official FFA Creed and Colors In 1930 the official FFA creed and colors were adopted

FFA Colors The FFA colors are corn gold and national blue

Federal Charter In 1950 the FFA became one of few students organizations to receive a Federal Charter from the U. S. Congress

New Farmers of America (NFA)  Was formed in 1935 for black (African American) students
