Our Goals as a UIUC Organization To provide healthcare to communities abroad in Central America To expose students to prevalent global and medical issues that many of these communities face To teach students basic clinical skills and basic medical / dental knowledge

What Can Students Do Abroad? Be the first individual who the patient meets Students will actively triage, diagnose, and suggest treatment plan with the supervision and review of a physician. (group  independently as skills progress) Translators available. Satisfaction of correct diagnosis, and learn through incorrect ones. Go on house calls with doctors to see the conditions that individuals in the community live in You are there to help patients as well as learn through observation and careful instruction from physicians ACTIVELY DOING, NOT JUST SHADOWING!

Trip Outline January 3-11 to Nicaragua 9 days – 2 days arriving/departing – 4-5 Clinic days – 1-2 “ free ” days Deadline for sign-up is October 5 Deadline for payment is November 22

Payment Information Medical/Pharmacy ~ $1250 Main payment is by mail (check only) – online donating through gofundme.com – We will have deferred payment plans as well as financial aid – More information on these in upcoming meetings We encourage fundraising on your part as many business are willing to donate!!!
