Q UESTIONS Q 1: Do you need to use English to commutate at work? How important is it for you to use English to communicate? A ns: Yes, sometimes there are foreigners coming, so English is very important.

Q 2: With what media and on what occasion do you use English to commutate (phone, conference, , or face-to face enquiry)? What are the purposes of the communication (books, greeting, answering enquiries, or introduction)? A ns: We usually communicate face to face or by telephone. The main purpose is interacting with customers.

Q 3: What language communication problems do you have? What strategies and resources do you use to solve the problems? A ns: Because I can’t remember so many words, I usually use body language to communicate with customers.

Q 6: How do you improve your language and cultural competence? A ns: Learning more vocabularies and speaking more and you will get used to it.

Q 7: What help do you think the government, the society or the company should provide to help workers improve their English competence? A ns: I think the government should provide more opportunities to learn foreign languages.

Q 8: What suggestion do you have for school English education? A ns: I think the resource that school provides is not enough for students learning English although working at McDonald’s don’t meet a lot of foreigners.
