Our content area educates staff and parents in understanding child growth development and in appreciating the individual differences by providing a supportive environment. Head Start of Greater Dallas ensures that at least 10% (ten percent) of enrollment serves children with special needs.

 Identification of children’s special needs by screening  Diagnosis  Treatments  Transition There are four phases to the delivery of Special Services:

HSGD’s children with special needs, including the following: Autism Visual Impairment Emotional/Behavior Disorders (including Blindness) Health Impairment Learning Disabilities Other Impairments Intellectual Disability (Hearing Impairment/Deafness) Orthopedic Impairment Speech or Language Disorders Traumatic Brain Injury
