CEDR February 9, 2007 Dutch NRA vision on CEDR Regarding eSafety involvement

CEDR February 9, Reaction to CEDR vision (1,2) We are now working on a policy with regards to in-car initiatives and will ready at the end 2007 nevertheless; in-car guidance and monitoring, is important for traffic and travel information and traffic management It has to be derived from customers perspective And should be taken up EU-wide. CEDR can help.

CEDR February 9, CEDR Strategy addressed (3) CEDR Platform on exchanging ideas and viewpoints CEDR coordination on roles, responsibilities, business- models and legal framework Stakeholders realisation of generic technology communication platforms for cars and roadside units Role engagement by different stake- holders (NRA’s, automotive and Telecom, Insurances)

CEDR February 9, CEDR Strategy addressed (3, 4) From every point of view (1 to 4) there can be a starting point for CEDR cooperation Developments can come across, or we start developments (“try to get to nr. 1 position”) CEDR can be platform to become “spokesman” for NRA’s EU-wide Choices with EU-wide implications can be made more clearly when coordinated by CEDR

CEDR February 9, Dutch NRA perspective (4) Work with road user in mind Work nationally and coordinate, compare, gain knowledge and disseminate internationally (platforms, EU KP research, MOU’s) When needed create CEDR point of views We like to be innovative in research and in implementations on the road

CEDR February 9, Dutch contribution Netherlands will be an“experimental garden” Work together as CEDR in the process to become a EU “NRA’s spokesman” Take part in eSafety: –eSafety Forum –eSafety working groups; WG communication, implementation road map, RTTI and Service oriented Architecture seem potential (as delegates from CEDR) –eSafety Awareness program can be interesting to take part in also (Netherlands has examples it can show
