Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 1. Giant Wormery Information: We need volunteers to help design and construct a large wormery. If volunteers have access to suitable materials even better! There is a very small budget for materials. The wormery needs to be completed and full of worms by end of October 2012. This would be only a few hours voluntary work in one session at the school once materials have been sourced. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 2 Giant Bug Hotel Information: We need a someone to help build and source the right materials to build this bug hotel for foundation stage children. Some materials have already been sourced. The bug hotel needs to be completed and full of bugs by end of October 2012. This would be only a few hours voluntary work in one session at the school once materials have been sourced Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 3 BirdCity Information We have a beautiful wildlife garden at our school which is home to a number of bird species. With winter coming, we want to build a selection of birdhouse and feeders specified to different birds. For example, several small boxes together for sparrows who nest communally. This would suit someone with an interest in wildlife and birds and able to make small structures. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 4. Welding Workshop Information: We are looking for someone with experience in spot welding to come and do a workshop in our school to help build a robot like the one pictured. If you have the skills and can spare an hour or two of your time please contact us! Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Twistable Density Tubes Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 5. Twistable Density Tubes Information: We want to build this interactive display to help learn about density in liquids. We envisage two (or more!) 2feet long sealed plastic containers filled with liquids of different densities. These tube should be able to spin so that they can be turned to mix the liquids and the separating can be observed. If you have any ideas on how to make this let us know! Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 6. Human Sundial Information: We are looking for a volunteer to help us plan this human sundial. The layout of the tiles which we will use is very important and we need someone to help map the correct layout. We need a volunteer who can give their time to this. This is a very quick project and once layout has been decided upon will only take a few hours at our school. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 7. Giant molecules Information: A collection of oversized molecular structure. Simple chemicals made out of balls of different sizes and linked according to bonds. This should only take an afternoon workshop once decided on chemical structures. A student with chemistry background would be most suited. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 8. Sound Sculpture Information: Whether it’s indoor or outdoor we want to build an interactive exhibit based on the science of sound. Can you help build something using pipes or wood to help the children learn how to change the pitch of sound? This is a shorter project that hopes to be completed by end of October 2012. It should only take a few hours on or off site to complete. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848

Irchester Community Primary School Volunteer Opportunity 9. Lab_13 Banner Welcome to Lab_13! Information: We have a large railing outside our school and we want to put up a sign telling everyone that our school is home to the country’s ONLY Lab_13! We would like creative, arty volunteers to help us design the sign! This sign can be completed on or offsite. Contact: Jennifer Hogan j.hogan@irchester.lpplus.net 01933353848
