Context of Unit  Year 5 class  18 students, 3 EAL learners  Topic on Environmental Issues in Society  Assists in understanding the relevance and impact the environment has on students lives  Students create and present a news report using the ICT program Visual Communicator

Assessment Task Sheet Due Date: Week 9 Task Description: Research your assigned environmental issue. Present your finding in a news report using Adobe Visual Communicator which you will publish and present to the class. New Report Presentation Duration: 1.30 to 2 minutes News Report Content: Introduce your environmental issue  Provide a definition. What is it?  Describe the cause. What makes it happen?  Describe the effects. Who, when and where?  Include a thought provoking further research question Group Member Roles: each group member must take on a leader role 1) News presenter - leads the writing of script and reads script 2) Producer - leads the design, layout and effects of the presentation 3) Head Researcher – leads the research of the environmental issue
