FITNESS TESTING BY NATHAN NICHOLLS

THE COMPONENTS OF FITNESS AGILITY AEROBIC ENDURANCE SPEED BALANCE COORDINATION MUSCULAR POWER FLEXIBILITY MUSCULAR ENDURANCE MUSCULAR STENGTH

BALANCE Balance is an ability to maintain the center of gravity of a body within the base of support with minimal postural sway

FLEXIBILITY Flexibility refers to the absolute range of movement in a joint or series of joints that is attainable in a momentary effort with the help of a partner or a piece of equipment. Flexibility in some joints can be increased to a certain degree by stretching.

SPEED Speed is when you are able to go from one place to another quickly

COORDINATION Coordination is when two or more people or things work together

AGILITY Agility is when you are able to manoeuvre around a lot, quickly

MUSCULAR ENDURANCE Muscular endurance is when people can exert themselves for a long period of time

MUSCULAR STRENGTH Muscular strength is the ability of a person to exert force on physical objects using muscles. Increasing physical strength is the goal of strength training.

MUSCULAR POWER Muscular power is when you can do things such as kick a footy a long way, smash a cricket ball or throw a tennis ball a long way

AEROBIC ENDURANCE Aerobic endurance is the time which you can exercise, without producing lactic acid (and it building up) in your muscles. In other words stamina, the amount of time you can maintain an aerobic use of energy (oxygen)
