The web defines science as the organized body of knowledge that is derived from such observations and that can be verified or tested by further investigation

1. Physics 2. Chemistry 3. Biology 4. Astronomy 5. Geology 6. Microbiology 7. Psychology

Physics is the study of the laws of the universe that govern matter, energy, space and time. Physics attempts to discover the nature of these four phenomenae. Cool Facts If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would produce enough sound energy to heat up one cup of coffee. Blue light is actually hotter than red light. The pull of gravity inside a black hole is so strong that not even light can escape.

Chemistry is the study of reactions, creations, and binding of matter. According to modern chemistry, the physical. properties of materials are generally determined by their structure at the molecular. Fun Facts Honey does not spoil. Pure gold is so soft that it can be molded with bare hands. The only letter not appearing in the periodic table is J.

Biology is the study of life. Biology deals with the various forms of organisms, and how the species come into existence and the interactions of each species with each other and the natural environment. Fun Facts A goldfish can survive in a tank full of human blood. Elephants are the only land animals that can't jump. Humans have less muscles than caterpillars.

Astronomy is the study of celestial objects-- pretty much anything beyond Earth's atmosphere. Astronomy is one of the earliest sciences because hum.ans have always been fascinated by the world beyond ours Funny Facts A day on the planet Mercury is twice as long as its year. Every second, the Sun pumps more than a million tons of material into the space through the solar wind. Earth is the densest planet in our Solar system

Geology is the study of Earth. Geology studies the composition of Earth and all of the elements and materials that make it up. The structure of the Earth, including plate techtonics, the different layers of the Earth and the atmosphere are all part of biology. Fun Facts There are four layers that make up the Earth: the inner core, the outer core, the mantle, and the crust. In polar areas in mid- summer, there is no night - - daylight lasts almost 24 hours a day. The deepest point in the ocean is 6.8 miles down.

Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms. Microbiologists use microscopes to magnify the organisms to a viewable size where they can then be observed and studied. Fun Facts The human body is estimated to contain more bacteria cells than human cells. The first bacterial genome was first completely sequenced in 1995.

Psychology is the study of behavior and the mental processes that occur within the human brain and at times the brains of animals. Psychology differs from other social sciences, or science that have to do with human interactions, because it is focused on experimentation such as with groups or individual persons. Fun Facts Your right ear is better at picking up speech while your left ear is better at hearing music melodies. The length of your pointer finger in relation to your index finger signifies how you will perform on the SAT.
