The importance of self-study: You will be spending 20 weeks in the classroom but 32 weeks out of the classroom so self-study is of the utmost importance. Here are some things you can do to study alone: study all the grammar points in the book not covered in class Use such sites as BBC Learning English to improve your language skills Access newspapers on line to practise reading newspaper articles (especially the second year students) such as the Guardian, the Times, the Independent, the Economist and so on. Access EFL websites such as Dave’s ESL Café, English-zone and Learn English to practise a variety of aspects Use the self-access material at the faculty and the CLA
