PG&E’s Solar Choice Programs May 2015

Brief History April 2012 2013 September 2013 December 2013 January PG&E files a Green Tariff application April 2012 PG&E files a Settlement Agreement with several parties for a “steel in the ground” renewables option 2013 Governor Brown signs SB 43, the Green Tariff Shared Renewables Program bill, into law September 2013 PG&E files testimony, showing conformance with SB 43 December 2013 Decision issued by the CPUC on January 29, 2015 January 2015

Shared Renewable Energy Options PG&E’s Solar Choice Plans will allow customers a way to purchase 100% solar power that… Ensures new incremental solar will be developed Requires minimal effort on the part of the customer Has no cost-shift to non-participants

Community Solar Choice Two Options PG&E bundled electric customers will be able to purchase electricity from new solar projects within PG&E’s service area in one of two ways: 272 MW Community Solar Choice Local Solar Choice

Comparing Plans Community Solar Choice Local Solar Choice Pool of Solar Projects Energy Source Single Solar Project .5 to 20 MW Project Size .5 to 3 MW PG&E Service Area Project Location Same city, county or within 10 miles of customer* 50 or 100% of usage Enrollment Level Customer-Developer arrangement of choice, up to 120% of annual usage PG&E Bill Transaction Customer-Developer Agreement, PG&E Bill * When a Local Solar Choice customer moves within the service area, they can retain their subscription at their new service address.

Enrollment and Certification First-Come First-Served PG&E bundled electric customers* are eligible for the program 272 MW program cap, of which 45 MW are reserved for residential customers. Enrollment open until 2019 or until cap is reached, whichever comes first. Once a customer enrolls, he/she may stay on the program beyond this date. 227 MW Unspecified 45 MW Residential Independent Certification PG&E will seek Green-e Energy certification, the nation’s leading voluntary certification program for renewable energy *100% Standby, non-metered service and TBS customers are not eligible to participate. NEM customers will not be eligible initially but will be allowed to participate at a later point in time.

Procurement Incremental, New Solar Projects Special Provisions In response to customer enrollment, PG&E will issue competitive solicitations for the power and sign long-term contracts for new solar resources within our service area. All program resources are above and beyond PG&E’s renewables portfolio requirements. Special Provisions Independent of customer enrollment, 50 MW of solar resources will be under contract by February 2016 in accordance with CPUC advance procurement goal. 272 MW Total

Community Solar Choice Features Deliveries from Day 1 Prior to new projects coming online, participants to be served by solar resources from PG&E’s Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) program. These deliveries will not be counted towards PG&E’s RPS. Local Project Development Projects will be solicited in the communities with the highest level of enrollment, and elsewhere as demand warrants.

Local Solar Choice Features Customer-Developer Agreement (CDA) Customers within the same county or 10 miles of a Local Solar Choice project can contract for a share of the project’s output (e.g., customers pay $X for X kW). Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) PG&E off-takes all energy output (kWh) from the system. PG&E pays the developer for unsubscribed energy only. PG&E Tariff Participating customers receive a PG&E bill credit aligning with the output of the subscribed portion of the local solar project.  “My piece of the project”
