Massey wants all its staff and students to be part of ShakeOut; more than one million people are participating. ShakeOut is: A good way to practice and prepare at work and at home: –Take part in the drill at 9:26am –Later in the day, plan and prepare with your colleagues and your family/househod in the evening. A way for organisations to test their emergency plans. What is ShakeOut?

In the lead up to ShakeOut you will see: Campus briefings and distribution of items for inclusion in your emergency backpack. Emergency webpages ( with links to: –videos and other resources for you to use with your students and colleagues. A competition for staff and students to win additional emergency equipment. At 9:26am: Remind your colleagues/students that it is ShakeOut time. Drop, Cover and Hold. Remain in position for 10 seconds or so. After the drill, we suggest: You hold a meeting to discuss emergency arrangements with your team. You ensure that you have contact details for your team.
