4 Insurance Definitions n Renters u Covers the cost to replace or repair the policy holder’s personal property, such as furniture, clothing, jewelry and electronics if they are damaged or destroyed by specific perils outlined in their policy such as fire, tornado and burglary. n Homeowners u Covers the cost to replace or repair the policyholder’s structural home and personal belongings if they are damaged or destroyed by specific perils outlined in their policy, such as fire, tornado and burglary.

Insurance Definitions n Auto u Provides coverage for costs to a policy holder involved in an automobile accident. n Term Life u Pays beneficiaries a specific amount if the policyholder dies while the policy is in force. Generally, it is cost-effective, offering maximum coverage for the lowest cost. n Identity Theft u Is a crime perpetrated by someone who uses another’s personal information to establish credit, purchase goods and services with existing credit cards, apply for new cards in the victim’s name, drain bank accounts, or commit other crimes. 5
