Roosevelt Takes Charge Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1933 became the next president of the U.S.A. Promised to change people for the depression and beat President Hoover. The Change was called, “The New Deal”. His wife, Eleanor Roosevelt was deeply involved in helping the country.

Putting together a Winning Team The New Deal is having a way to combat the depression. He was convinced that the Federal Government needed to play an active role in promoting recovery and providing relief to the Americans. To help him plan the New Deal, FDR sought the advice of a diverse group of men and women.

Putting together a Winning Team The press nickname these people, “the Brain Trust”. He put two Republicans and women to help FDR to run the country. He depended heavily on his wife.

The First Hundred Days Provide Instant Action FDR swiftly restores the Nation's confidence He called Congress into a special session and convinced them to pass laws to shore up the nation’s banking system.
