Site Import (Import Wizard) Site Import (Import Wizard)

We are going to take a list of sites and import them from Excel…. The data can be in ANY order … and we don’t have to supply specific columns. Whatever you have will probably do the trick. This process does NOT import: Owner and lease details GPS coordinates (a different import exists for that).

Although it says ‘Import’ this tool also has many data update capabilities. Check the online help for current details.

Many options here …. Once again, see Help. We are going to import some sites.

Locate your file name then Next.

Click the columns in the Preview and select from the popup menu the SIGNZ field for the data. If they are not to be imported then leave at (Ignore). You must have EITHER a SiteNumber or SiteID …

Normally this defaults to Update Only to prevent importing new sites. We are going to add new sites so … change the option … then >> Import

Any errors would show up as a red cell….

In the initial import I forgot ‘Direction’ so we can update just that.

OK, so it should have a ‘skipped’ count or another message to tell you that the top site was not found. Right now … it doesn’t so keep an eye out for yellow when importing.
