To make library materials findable on the open Web and drive traffic to libraries. WorldCat.org – Make the entire WorldCat catalog available to users as an openly available service on the Web. Why? To provide one place for users to find and get materials from their closest libraries, and all libraries. Expose FirstSearch Databases through worldcat.org - Expose databases and other subscribed data from OCLC via worldcat.org. Why? To provide an enhanced discovery experience libraries can provide to their patrons in order to discover OCLC resources.

To emphasize library holdings and incorporate the delivery systems of the institution. Web-scale management services – provide network level acquisition and circulation functionality. Why? Leverage the power of the cooperative and provide a Web-scale solution with enough functionality and newly integrated workflows to allow libraries to work at the network level.
