Presentation transcript:

What is FGCU Capture? FGCU -> Capture is the University’s easy to learn, easy to use lecture capture system. This technology is now installed in select classrooms and will enable video and sound recordings of any classroom activity of your choice including, presentations, lectures, discussions even whiteboard notes!select classrooms Launched as a pilot during the academic year, AET’s lecture capture technology was applied to classes in three different disciplines… Mathematics, Engineering and Social Work. This technology was developed “in-house” by AET staff to meet the teaching and learning needs of FGCU faculty and students. The system components include: Mounted “pan-tilt-zoom” cameras that can either “follow the action” or have pre-set focus locations. Mounted array microphone(s) that can pick up the sound of either the course presenter or any student participants Adobe Connect licensing which enables the integration of the video and sound and provides a secure location for all recordings, accessible via Canvas or through a shared link.

How can FGCU Capture enhance teaching and learning? Provides for supplement student learning… all recordings are securely posted on line for students to view after class hours for supplemental instruction. Live stream your classes… to individual students or another remote location. Invite presenters remotely to class… from any off-site location! Flipped Classroom Model… view lectures on-line then review, discuss, collaborate in class.

Results of our FGCU Capture Pilot… Faculty who volunteered for the pilot reported that using the technology was extremely intuitive and that lecture capture technology was enthusiastically received by all students in their classes. Responses to surveys distributed in each class indicated… … and there was no discernible change to in-class attendance during the pilot period!
