“Christians are 100% Forgiven!” Romans 4:7-25 Romans 4:7-25

Jamestown, Virginia was the first permanent settlement in the United States... Tours given today emphasize...

“God will forgive me; that’s His job!”

Purpose: to better understand the significance of being 100% forgiven of sins

Not faith alone, but through faith, grace is received at baptism and forgiveness is one hundred percent!

ISin’s Seriousness A.Minimize Sin by Familiarity

Vance Havner in an article entitled “Getting Us to the Dark” tells of his experience in going into a restaurant where the lighting was poor. His friend said, “Wait a minute and you’ll get accustomed to it.”

ISin’s Seriousness A.Minimize Sin by Familiarity B.Minimize Sin by Euphemisms

With more “respectable” titles, it’s easier to become accustomed to sin...

ISin’s Seriousness A.Minimize Sin by Familiarity B.Minimize Sin by Euphemisms C.Minimize Sin With Amusement

Not slamming healthy humor... But to scoff at sin is to be desensitized to its danger...

ISin’s Seriousness A.Minimize Sin by Familiarity B.Minimize Sin by Euphemisms C.Minimize Sin With Amusement D.Minimize Sin with Pop Psychology E.Minimize Sin by Comparing

We know we’re not perfect but compared to...

IIGod’s Graciousness A.Jesus’ Death Was Not That of a Martyr

2 Corinthians 5:21 “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Isaiah 53:6 “All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.”

IIGod’s Graciousness A.Jesus’ Death Was Not That of a Martyr B.Jesus’ Death Was That of a Volunteer

John 10:17-18 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”

Mark 15:33 “When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour.”

IIISalvation’s Only Source A.JUSTICE is Deserved Punishment B.MERCY is Exemption From Punishment

On an episode of “Little House on the Prairie” there was a trial where the town bully was convicted of burning down a barn....

IIISalvation’s Only Source A.JUSTICE is Deserved Punishment B.MERCY is Exemption From Punishment C.GRACE is Favor When Punishment is Deserved

Here’s what the result would be if some things were done correctly “only” 99.9% of the time: 1.Unsafe landings at O’Hare International Airport (Chicago), every day = two 2.Lost pieces of mail in the U.S. Postal Service hourly = 16,000 3.Incorrect drug prescriptions, annually = 20,000

Here’s what the result would be if some things were done correctly “only” 99.9% of the time: 4.Checks deducted from the wrong accounts, hourly = 22,000 5.Number of documents lost by the Internal Revenue Service, annually = 2 million

Conclusion and Summary As you can see, if you are among the “unlucky” 0.1%, the error impacts you by 100%. Such is certainly true when it comes to a right relationship with God. Don’t rely on your own righteousness and goodness to save you. Rely on the grace of God alone. Christians are 100% forgiven!
