Teacher Management Emergency Plans –Keep an explanation of all routines, procedures, etc. in your sub folder –Have a few generic activities that can be taught at any time in case your planned activity cannot be accomplished. –Organize your week of worksheets into folders for each day of the week –Have a colleague who you can your plans to.

Teacher Management Cont’d Plan book -Have your plan book planned 2 weeks in advance Preparation of Materials -Place all papers, manuals,& materials in daily bins a week in advance. -Organize all other papers & materials by subject -Laminate any papers, activities, etc. that can be re-used. -Use parent volunteers to help organize -Have your room completely ready for the next day before you leave.

Teacher Management Cont’d Use of Plan Periods -Keep an ongoing list of “things to do” & cross them off as you go -Prioritize your list -Before you walk your students to specials, gather everything you will need for your errand running -Try to limit your parent phone calls to 5 minutes each, saving longer calls for before & after school
