Knowledge: is the outcome of the assimilation of information through learning. Knowledge is the body of facts, principles, theories and practices that are related to a field of work or study. Skills: are the ability to apply knowledge and use know-how to complete tasks and solve problems. Competences: are the proven ability to use knowledge, skills and personal, social and/or methodological abilities in work or study situations and in professional and personal development.

Units of Learning outcomes are a component of a qualification, consisting of a coherent set of knowledge, skills and competence, which can be assessed and validated. Units of Learning outcomes enable progressive achievement of qualifications through transfer and accumulation of learning outcomes. They are subject to assessment and validation which verify and record that the learner has achieved the learning outcomes expected.

14 SET4Work Social Enterprise Training for Work: For people that have difficulty in accessing training and/or the labor market 1st Step: Descriping learning outcomes: A unit of learning outcomes needs to include at least: the generic title of the unit the generic title of the qualification (or qualifications) to which the unit relates, where applicable the learning outcomes contained in the unit, the procedures and criteria for assessment of these learning outcomes the ECVET points associated with the unit, the validity in time of the unit, where relevant.

17 SET4Work Social Enterprise Training for Work: For people that have difficulty in accessing training and/or the labor market European qualification framework The EQF is a common European reference framework, which links the different national qualification levels and systems. In practice, it will function as a translation tool making qualifications more understandable. This will help learners and workers wishing to move between countries or change jobs or move between national educational institutions.

18 SET4Work Social Enterprise Training for Work: For people that have difficulty in accessing training and/or the labor market European qualification framework It supports a better match between the needs of the labour market (for knowledge, skills and competences) and education and training. The EQF uses 8 reference levels based on learning outcomes. The EQF will help employees, employers and education and training providers to compare individual qualifications.
