How can I vary my sentences?

 A simple sentence has only subject and one predicate  The lead guitarist ran onstage.  A compound sentence contains two or more simple sentences combined with a conjunction or a semi-colon.  The lights flicked on, and the lead guitarist ran on stage.  The lights flicked on; the lead guitarist ran onstage.  A complex sentence has one main clause and one or more subordinate clauses.  Fans cheered when they saw their favorite guitarist.
