Libya By :Emily Meinzer, Cody Hambly, Crystal Kendrick, and Baliegh Anderson

Libya’s People A lot of Africa’s population is in Libya. There are a lot of important people in Libya, but the most important people are the Berber people. They are very important to the culture and actually they are the founders of Libya.

Important Places An important place in Libya is an old city named Tripoli. Famous by the name of Medina built by Turkish and Italian architecture. There are many important places in Libya but this is just one.

Physical Features Libya, once aptly called the desert kingdom of Africa, has a costal frontage of over 1,000 mi. (1,600 km.) stretching between Tunisia and Egypt in northern Africa. The shores of the three countries are washed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. From the coast, Libya extends from 500 to 800 mi. (800 to 1,300 km.) south, making most of the country part of the great Sahara, the sea of sand that separates North Africa from Equatorial Africa. Libya, covering an area of 679,362 sq. mi. (1,759,540 sq. km.), is traditionally considered as three separate and diverse regions: Cyrenaica in the east, Tripolitania in the extreme nothwest, and Fezzan in the Southwest.

Humans and Physical Environment For people in Libya to survive the Democracy has to be protected if not then other countries will come into Libya and there will be war. It has already happened before and now they have learned there lesson. Natural environment is very crucial importance for social and economic life they depend on a lot of stuff like food. Libya is looking for skilled employees in the field of construction.

Geographic factors and Natural resources Tripolitama in the west, Frazzan in the southwest, and Cyrenaica in the east. Petroleum, natural gas, and gypsum.

Culture Food: Libyans eat lots of different things. Some of these things we eat like chips, watermelons, beans, nuts, and potatoes. But they also eat stuff that we don’t eat lice chickpeas. Music: some of Libya’s favorite Arabic artists are Ayman El Aatar and Hamid El sha’eri. They listen to a lot of different music. Religion: Islam is the religion that most people follow in Libya. Language: Arabic is the language that Libyans speak. Clothing: they cover there bodies in Libya. Girls wear dress’ that cover there feet and face. Guys wear pants and shirts mostly long sleeves.

Government The Government in Libya is Military dictatorship.
