About the Project Developed in response to inappropriate disposal by sharps’ users – used sharps found in recycling etc. Aims to assist sharps users to find an appropriate location to dispose of used sharps. REROC must develop solutions that work in the smallest shire in the State and the largest inland city; on-line is often the most effective answer Project initiated by REROC, supported by Australian Diabetes Council and funded by the Community Sharps Management grant which is an initiative of the NSW Department of Health and the LGSA.
About the Project Delivered through a website as well as an iPhone app, iPad app and mobile web for Smart Phones. All forms of access are free. Launched by the NSW Minister for Health in July We are relying on a “crowd sourcing” to populate the site. We anticipate it will grow “organically” as the community uploads information. We have written to every council in NSW to ask for additional information.
