Renewable Energy Sources (Biomass Energy)

What’s biomass energy? Biomass is to provide energy from biological matters which are living or have lived recently. This energy is used for industrial aims.

What’s biomass energy? Rapidly increasing the population and industry causes more energy need. Biomass is one of primary sources which can be used to provide renewable and clean energy. Biomass energy is unending and can be obtained everywhere. Morever it helps the socio-economical development in country side.

Biomass Plant and living organism is the source of biomass. And biomass is generally called as “plantal organisms which store the solar energy photosynthetically”.

Biomass Energy While the organic substances photosynthesise, they give oxygen to the atmosphere. The carbondioxyde is given to the atmosphere as a result of burning out of the organic substances. But there is a balance between giving oxygen and carbondioxyde to the environment. So during obtaining energy from biomass, the environment is protected in terms of CO2 emission. The plants are not only nutritional sources but also eco-friendly unending energy sources.

Biomass Energy The fossil fuel is formed by staying underground for millons of years. In fact, fossil fuel has the same features but they give more harmful matters to the atmosphere when they’re fired. Because they get changed with the effect of the temperature and pressure underground. Moreover, the firing of fossil fuel (formed through millions of years) in a short time causes to break down the balance of carbondioxyde in the air. And this causes global warming.

The advantages of biomass energy. In the last century while consuming energy has increased 17 times more, the harmful gases emitted to the atmosphere because of fossil fuels have increased at the same rate. It’s possible to create settlement which can produce its own self- sufficient energy by the regional and modern operation of biomass. Especially this is appropriate especially for the far away places from energy lines.

The Advantages of Biomass To obtain energy from biomass, agricultural laboring is needed more. So biomass energy is a good option to provide a circle of trade especially in the country side. By this way, immigration from country side to metropolitan cities can be prevented. Biomass can be grown in the badlands and this provides to benefit from the badlands in country side which can’t be used before.

Biomass Growing In the recent years, the studies on the energy plants which grow fast and can be grown in badlands have increased. Some of the plant seeds used in energy agriculture are developed by the help of genetics engineering. Energy plants are (Panicum-Pennisetum) sugarcane, sugar beet, corn and sweet sorghum.

The General Features of Energy Plants They need high temperature, They need water less, They are supportable towards seasonal drought, Their ability to use light intensity is high.

Biomass Transfer Technologies Biomass materials are tranferred into solid, liquid and gas by using biomass tranfer techniques. As a transfer result, the main products are biodiesel, biogas, bioethanol, pyrolytic gas and the byproducts are fertilizer and hydrogen. In addition, in the fields of producing the furniture, paper and insulating materials, people can benefit from biomass.

Biomass Transfer Technologies

Biomass Potential of Turkey Turkey has a high potential on biomass with its large lands and agricultural production.
