Objectives To familiarise schools with the LA SEN monitoring and evaluation process To familiarise schools with the SEN/AEN online resource pack

School completes annual audit Monitored by the LA every two years Half day monitoring visits - schools will be notified by letter 8 weeks in advance Outcomes will be shared with relevant people The East Riding SEN Monitoring and Evaluation Process

Preparing for LA SEN Monitoring Audit and action plan completed and sent to designated LA officer two weeks in advance of visit Additional evidence required two weeks in advance of the visit: Breakdown of SEN spending Trends in SEN needs over last three years Provision for SEN and funding for SEN interventions School evaluation of impact of SEN provision Data identifying pupil progress for each CoP category (A, P, S) over previous 12 months

A Summary of Funding Designated to Support SEN Pupils in School Statements Statement formula Funding for Children with Special Educational Needs without statements SEN Support Service block 5% of the Staffing and Supplies and Services AWPU up to Y11 Personalised learning component

VARIANCE What is the difference between income and spend? 1B. NEEDS How does the school identify and assess those with SEN/AEN? 2B. PROVISION How are the resources used by the school? 3B. OUTCOMES What difference does the deployment of resources make to pupil progress? ACTIONPLANACTIONPLAN The Audit

Action Planning The online audit will identify the broad areas that need to be addressed. This audit will provide the initial framework to create an SEN Action Plan relevant to your school.

What happens next? The LA officer uses evidence provided by the school to generate an RVA RVA circulated to Headteacher, Inclusion Strategy Manager, Area Relationship Manager and School Improvement Partner School action plan will inform: Next LA SEN monitoring and evaluation visit SEF/school development plan CPD needs
