About our speaker.... Commander Brian D. Johnston, “Navy Helicopter Service In Support Of Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts” AHS Dinner Meeting, January 9, 2007 Commander Brian Johnston is a Navy Reserve helicopter pilot attached to Strike Force Training Atlantic based in Norfolk, VA. He graduated from Cornell University in 1986 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and received his Navy wings in During the course of his 19 year career, he has flown the Sikorsky SH-3, the Kaman SH-2G, and the Sikorsky SH- 60B. He is a Desert Storm veteran, and deployed to New Orleans in September 2005 with HSL 60 based in Mayport, FL to support Joint Task Force Katrina. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal for that service. About our sponsor.... Please fill out this guest voucher to receive the guest rate. 01 Brian is employed locally by Lockheed Martin MS2 in Moorestown, NJ as the Lead System Engineer for the US Coast Guard HC-144A, a Maritime Patrol Aircraft currently undergoing Developmental Test in Elizabeth City, NC. Previously, he was employed by Keystone Helicopter Corporation as an EMS pilot flying the S-76 and BK-117 helicopters for Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. In this capacity he flew over 600 lifesaving missions including support of New York City on Sept 11th, He is an Airline Transport Pilot and has flown over 3,300 hours in various helicopters. Brian is married to Dr. Christine Johnston and has two children, Aimee and Henry. He lives in Wallingford, PA.
