6 Project selection Calls for proposals: Applied when: objectives are general, huge number of applicants, equal opportunities. Procedure: One-round call (smaller projects, well-prepared applications), Two-round call (large projects, application based on ‘project idea’). Priority projects Applied when: enormous costs, long-term preparation, one or few possible final beneficiaries, public purposes. Procedure: priority project (Government), major project (European Commission).

7 Project selection – priority projects Publication of the guidelines (NDA, MA) Project beneficiaries submit the project proposals to the bodies that proposed the priority project (Regional Development Council, Ministry, NDA) The proposing body examines the project proposal: coherence with the objectives of the OP and development strategies; objectives are measureable, cost-efficiency, proper level of preparation Supportingnot supporting the qualification of the project as priortiy project.
