w w w. h a m k. f i / s k i l l s HAMK University of Applied Sciences / AKVA projects (2000 – 2007) (AKVA means “Improvement of vocational skills through coaching and competition”) has trained vocational teachers, workplace tutors and other personnel to be specialists in the area of vocational skills competition activity and to the training of vocational top excellence. Altogether during this process more than 3000 people have attended the training.

The system helps to keep up Finnish expertise, skilfulness and competence. The training of young professionals is designed and carried out in cooperation with vocational education and training providers and business life.

w w w. h a m k. f i / s k i l l s Excellence in skills coaching and training (2/2) Basic Training National Team Training, Team Camps Developing Special Skills The basic training is initiated by selecting a group of motivated, skilled young people of each trade. The most advanced candidates are selected to go on further in the next step in the training. The competitors for the national team are selected. This step of training is targeted at developing the special skills on individual basis set as a goal for the international skills competition. This will make it possible to compete in international skills competitions with the other top professionals.
