Home Uniform Homework Lessons Teachers Result Both KS3 and KS4 pupils at Smith’s Wood Sports College have three hours of mathematics every week. In Year 7, sets are of mixed ability. Sets are streamed in year 9, as this is when the preparation for GCSE study begins. A mathematics challenge club is run to stretch the most able pupils, and they are encouraged to solve more unusual problems that they may not get to see in the classroom. For those who attend this club, there is an opportunity to take part in the UKMT Team Mathematics Challenge.
