EDUCATIONAL MEASURES CONCERNING DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE IN HUNGARY

Levels of Education  Primary school (8 classes, 6-14 years)  Secondary school (4 classes, years)  Higher education (BA degree, MA degree, PhD)  Adult Education

Education level and LLL

Primary and secondary school  Special normative support for disadvantaged people  Educational measures connected with social measures (school-milk programme, extra support for buying teaching materials.)

Higher Education  Entrance exam – automaticaly more points - guaranteed by law, and extra points according to the rules of the university  Social scholarship can be given (Student Association decides) guaranteed by law + extra rules set by the university  Place at a student hostel  Special measures and rules for people with disabilities and extra normative support  No connection with the „general” scholarship

Adult Education  European Social Funds or state sponsored programmes Target groups: unemployed, prisoners, new carrier - Teaching adult people to finish primary school, learning new profession - Giving them scholarship or transfer and journey cost - Short term courses

Gipsy minority  Gipsy minority – assumed number people  Segregation or integration?  Central programme managed by the authorities and NGO’s of the gipsy minority
