Presentation transcript:

Our ABC Garden Room Three received a grant from the Capital Region Community Foundation Youth Action Committee for an Alphabet Garden at Marble School, 2002.

A check from the Youth Action Committee is being presented to the first graders for the alphabet garden.

This is the area of the Marble School garden where the ABC garden will be planted.

Another view of the area which will be planted with ABC plants.

A first grade student is making a clay tile for the letter “E.” This tile will be placed In the garden by the plant that starts with the letter “E.”

A student is making the letter “O”

All 26 letters of the alphabet will be in our garden with a plant that starts with the letter.

The first graders took a field trip to Van Atta’s Nursery in Haslett, MI. Our guide is telling the students and parents about the Nursery.

Our guide is showing the class a way to prevent Gypsy Moths from destroying the leaves of a tree.

One of the peacocks is showing us his beautiful tail.

The first graders are standing by one of the greenhouses.

The children are looking at some of the plants that are Available for the alphabet garden.

A forget-me-not flower is so pretty.

We are picking our plants for the alphabet garden. We all get to choose a plant for the garden.

Here we are looking at some of the plants we have chosen.

What we have to do next… Wait until the weather is warmer to put our plants in the garden Glaze the clay tiles and decorate them Put the finished tiles by the correct plant in the garden Make a marker for each plant Take good care of our new plant

Thank you to the Capital Region Community Foundation We will enjoy watching our new garden grow.
