Creating Test Sessions Proctor Caching Computer If a Proctor Caching Server is set up by your DTC, the field will be automatically populated. If a Proctor Caching Server has not been set up, the field will not be required. Scheduled Start Date Provide a planned start date for the test session. This information is used for planning purposes and is not enforced. A test session will not start until you select Start on the Session Details screen, regardless of the scheduled start date and time.

Select Move Students and confirm the move on the confirmation pop up.

See form choices below. 6.Forms should have been assigned automatically during the student data upload. If they are not correct, please contact the EDSS Student Enrollment Coordinator.

Prepare for Testing Day Before Testing Tasks 1.Check for students not assigned to a Test Session 2.Print Student Authorization Tickets for each Test Session 3.Print Seal Codes for each Test Session 4.Proctor Cache test content for each Test Session

Prepare for Testing Print Student Authorization Tickets 1.Go to Test Management > Manage Test Sessions 2.Choose a Test Session 3.Select the Authorizations drop down followed by the Student Authorizations drop down 4.Grid view prints 4 tickets per page and is recommended **Reminder: Secure Material

Prepare for Testing Print Student Authorization Tickets Note: The Test Code is currently labeled Password. It is the same for all students in a testing session.

Prepare for Testing Print Seal Codes Seal codes are used to open sealed test sections. Each test contains three sealed test sections. Only the first three seal codes will be used, and must be used in order. 1.Go to Session Details > Authorizations > Seal Codes **Reminder: Secure Material

Prepare for Testing Proctor Cache Test Content PROCTOR CACHING WILL BE DONE FOR YOU BY THE TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT. Proctor caching downloads the test content from Pearson to the caching computer in your building. This allows test content to be loaded faster during testing and enables testing to continue if internet connection is lost.

During Testing Monitoring Test Sessions Once testing has begun the Test Management > Manage Test Session screen will provide limited information about the status of testing. You will need to select a test session to get any details about what’s happening with the students in the session. If you are interested in the status of a particular student, but don’t know what Test Session they are in: Go to Test Management > Manage Test and View by: Students. Search for the student and select the hyperlink to their Session.

During Testing Monitoring Student Status Details If you want to know how a student is progressing with testing, you may select the View Progress hyperlink beside the student’s status.

During Testing Monitoring Completion Rate The Registration Summary Report may be used to determine the number of students who have completed all three sections of testing. 1.Go to Test Management > Register Students 2.Select Request Registration Summary 3.Select Yes – Continue with Request 4.Go to Test Results > View Published Reports to download the Registration Summary Report Open Test = not started OR not finished Valid Test = Completed OR Marked Complete Run a final report prior to marking tests complete.

After Sections 1 & 2 Move Absent Students to a make-up Test Session Why would you want to do this? Moving absent students to make-up Test Sessions is NOT required; however, it makes tracking make-up students easier. Students moved to a new Test Session will need a new Authorization Ticket. A student may be moved back to their original Test Session if they catch up to the group. Units may not be tested out of order for Science or Social Studies See previous slide on Moving Students

After Section 3 Marking Complete Completed AND Marked Complete THERE IS A DIFFERENCE! Completed: Students who exit their final section and Submit Final Answers properly will be in Completed status. Submit Final Answers should be used by ALL students at the end of the final section. Marked Complete: Marked Complete is a forced completion of a test not finished or not exited properly and requires purposeful intervention by the SAC. The SAC will use Mark Test Complete at the end of the testing window for any student who has started a test, but is not in Completed status. Use only the EDSS approved list when filling in the Reason. For example: If a student is in Exited, but has completed all sections they did not exit Section 3 properly. A student moved or became chronically absent before completing all units.

After Section 3 Marking Complete 1.Select the student(s) checkbox from the Session Details screen. 2.Select Mark Test Complete 3.Enter a Reason from the EDSS approved list and Save.

After Test Section 3 Stopping a Test Session WARNING: There is NO Restart button in PearsonAccess Classic. You should not STOP a Test Session until all three sections have been completed. Stopping a test session is not required until the end of the test window. SACs may prefer to stop test sessions earlier for increased test security, as Seal Codes become invalid when a test session is stopped. All students must be in COMPLETED or MARKED COMPLETE status, so you must move students who did not test to a make-up or PTR (parent test refusal) group before you can stop the test.

After Test Section 3 Stopping a Test Session Press the Red STOP button

End of Test Window Stopping ALL Test Sessions At the end of the testing window ALL Test Sessions will need to be stopped. Confirm that all sessions have been Stopped by checking the Manage Test Session screen.

SAC FAQs Is John Doe registered for the test? 1.Go to Test Management > Register Students 2.View by: Registered students 3.Enter the student’s last name If you find the student, you will know they are registered and must be assigned to a Test Session What NOT to do: Do NOT go to Student Data >> Student Data Information as this view shows both registered student who should be testing, as well as, unregistered students who are not scheduled for testing and can be misleading and confusing.

SAC FAQs How do I invalidate a test? You MAY be asked for an invalidation code during the Mark Test Complete process. Make the best choice from the list provided. At the completion of testing send one to the EDSS Student Enrollment Coordinator. Provide a brief explanation for each student who was unable to complete testing.

SAC FAQs Where do I find the ePAT? Anyone can access the ePAT from the Pearson launch screen. No login or user account required! Yes, Text-to-Speech is avaiable on the ePAT..
