Field-IQ System Boom Height Control
Benefits Maintain boom height in uneven terrain Reduce operator fatigue Consistent spray tip height reduces drift
Four sprayer interface kits released Additional kits targeted Rogator Rogator RG series kit “Requires FIQ” Case SPX 2009 and newer Miller 4000 and 5000 series New Holland SP.xxxF Apache series, 2009 and newer Supported Models Main differences in platforms are cables, hose length, hydraulic fittings, and brackets. With FIQ installed a SIM module is already installed for manual control of switches in cab.
Cab kit What to order depends if Field-IQ is already installed or not. Platform kit Select appropriate make/model Hose kit Select kit to match platform make/model kit Sensor kit 3 or 5 sensors available dependent on boom width Passcode for CFX Optional center section upgrade kit System Components
Valve Block Specific to Platform Ordered to control boom wings Upgraded to control center section
VM 430 Valve Module Can command three valves Same module used for Field Level II
SS-100 Ultra Sonic Sensor Installed as a daisy chain between sensors Must use terminators at the ends Vibration and shock tolerant
Emergency Stop Button Disable all booms with button before transporting or folding 1.Press Emergency Stop 2.Close field 3.Fold booms Help eliminate possibility of the booms activating while in the hangers
Installation
Key Points of Installation Determine location of sensors Consider placement when folding booms
Key Points of Installation Install instructions will give suggested mounting locations
Key Points of Installation Sensor needs minimum 24” (60cm) from crop canopy or ground depending on mode of operation
Key Points of Installation Ensure sensor bracket does not hang below bottom of boom and drag
Communication Sensor computes distance Sends reading to CFX CFX contains control algorithms VM 430 receives digital command Sends analog command to valve Height Sensor Valve Block VM 430 Module
Boom Status Grey = disabled Yellow = enabled Green = engaged

Setting Up Boom Height Control
Setup
Setting Up Height Sensors Boom size determines placement of sensors Should be same height across boom
Setting Up Height Sensors Enter distance from the sensor to spray tip to lower edge of sensor cone
Operation Setup
Adjust only if boom consistently lowers too fast
Operation Setup Raise setting to reduce rocking Depends on type of boom suspension
Operation Setup This is your on target indication scale
Operation Setup Maximum distance tip to target
Operation Setup Minimum distance tip to target
Operation Setup Amount increased or decreased when adjusting the Target Height
Operation Setup Similar to Autopilot on line aggressiveness Influenced by ground conditions
Installation Verification After installation Manually verify connections and hydraulics Similar to Autopilot
Calibration Have the center boom in a lower state and all booms level
Advanced Tab Features Allows changes to setup wizard and advanced system changes
